Physical and chemical properties: pure white prismatic crystal, melting point 200 °C, relative density 1.437, soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in ether and acetone.

Use:  mainly used in the synthesis of pantothenic acid and calcium pantothenate, carnosine, pamidronate sodium, balsalazide and so on, in medicine, feed, food and other fields widely used. It is also used as corrosion inhibitor and biochemical reagent for electroplating.
